An integrated shape editor has been added to allow shapes to be created and edited within the WordSearch 4 application.
A short tutorial on the shape editor is available from the help menu and from within the help file.
A new shape management window has been added to allow the adding, deleting and activating of shapes.
The web site now has a page where users can exchange shapes that they have created.
The application now uses Auto Save and Versions in OS X Lion. This feature applies to the wordsearch files only and not to the shape files. Auto Save and Versions may, if you wish, be turned off in the preferences.
Drag and drop between windows now works correctly in OS 10.6
The help file is now the correct help file. Previous versions of the program had an unfinished help file that had, somehow, got included in error.
Fixed many other minor bugs and interface problems.
Version 1.2.1 - 26 October 2011
Feedback from users indicated that the interface on the print options window was still awkward and difficult to use. As a result I have, once again, rearranged the controls to make them easier to locate and use as follows:-
All of the controls for the wordsearch are now on one single tab rather than the two tabs used previously. A button has been added to allow the more infrequently used controls to be hidden.
All of the controls for the words are now on one single tab rather than the three tabs used previously. A button has been added to allow the more infrequently used controls to be hidden.
All of the controls for the clues are now on one single tab rather than the two tabs used previously.
The title and instruction block controls are located in their own new tab.
The print options window is now opaque.
In addition to the above
Added a checkbox on the wordsearch tab and the title and instruction tab to allow the guide lines on the wysiwyg printed page display to be toggled on and off
Also added a button on the set margins window to allow all margins to be quickly set to the same value.
Whilst only 8 x 8 word searches may be printed you may now view larger wordsearches in the print options window.
When creating a wordsearch larger than 8 x 8, in the create wordsearch window, a watermark appears behind the wordsearch.
A similar watermark appears in the print options window
In addition there have been various user interface changes and minor bug fixes.
Version 1.2.0 - 14 September 2011
The program will now run and display correctly on all machines with a display size of 1280 x 800 and greater.
Printing can now be done directly from the creation window.
Fixed the following bugs that only occured on OS 10.7- Lion:-
Importing words via drag and drop and from a file was broken.
Wordsearch would disappear in the creation window if the title bar was clicked.
Adding a new shape froze the program.
Version 1.0.1 - 20 Jul 2011
Re-labelled some buttons on the main input window and the word/clue editing window to make their use more clear
Grouped related objects and placed them in labelled boxes in the printing window to make it less confusing.
Made the following changes to the alert that displays when there are banned words in a newly created wordsearch:-
Display is now dependant solely on there being a banned word in the wordsearch. ie the alert cannot be suppressed.
Included a button on the alert to allow the wordsearch to be re-created
The "Check for Banned Words" button will always produce an alert either showing the banned words found or that no banned words were found.
Added a hyperlink to the program website on the "About..." box.
